Structural design is the methodical investigation of the stability, strength and rigidity of structures. The basic objective in structural analysis and design is to produce a structure capable of resisting all applied loads without failure during its intended life. Different types of structures like concrete, framed, shell, membrane, truss, cables and arches, surface structure, etc., can be viewed in many models. Members or components of a building can take on a variety of shapes or forms depending on their functional requirements. Buildings, bridges, towers, arches, and cables are all examples of civil engineering constructions.
